How to Care for Your Dentures

If you are used to missing teeth, it may take a few days for your mouth to adjust to your dentures. At first, it may feel awkward or even uncomfortable, even though Precious Smiles Family Dentistry custom fits them to fit your mouth. We ask that you give it a few days to try them out and let your mouth become accustomed to wearing the dentures regularly. Dentures are susceptible to the same decay and destruction as your real teeth if not properly cared for so remember to take care of them and clean them daily. When you come in to pick them up, Precious Smiles Family Dentistry will go over a recommended dental hygiene practices. To make your dentures last longer, and to keep them in top condition we suggest you add these practices to your daily routine. A soft toothbrush should always be used to lightly brush your dentures to remove any food. An oral rinse can be used after you remove your dentures to reduce the chances of bad breath and bacteria growth in the rest of your mouth.
